2017 Festival to showcase Maidenhead’s creativity

With the addition of a giant screen to the festival backdrop in 2017, it’s a great opportunity to display photos and drawings that demonstrate what Maidenhead and Maidenhead Festival mean to the local community. With this in mind, the committee are inviting entries into two new competitions; a photography competition and a children’s drawing competition.

“Love Maidenhead” photography competition

It’s competition time!  We want to showcase just how amazing Maidenhead is and instil a bit of pride in our town.  So you’re invited to share on social media photos you’ve taken of your favourite place in Maidenhead, along with a sentence of why you love Maidenhead.

How to enter:

  • Join the comp Facebook group at www.facebook.com/groups/maidenheadfestphotocomp
  • Upload a photograph of maidenhead that you have taken in the last year onto the group
  • Include your name (or name of photographer if different to yours), age, location of photo, date taken if known, a sentence on what you love about our town and what device you took the photo on!
  • Make sure you upload before the 14th of July (if you want your photo on the big screen), but all photos uploaded until the 24th July 2017 will be entered into the competition
  • Not on Facebook?  No problem, simply email your entry with all the above details to info@maidenheadfestival.org.uk and we’ll upload it for you!

Please share the group as much as possible, invite your friends, family and neighbours, and let's show off our pride of our brilliant town!

Competition winners will be contacted after Maidenhead Festival by the Festival Organisers.

Prize Categories: Professional / Smartphone / Under 16

The competition is supported by Jodie Humphries, local blogger and photographer and founder of the Instagram hashtag #lovemaidenhead. She comments “when I started the #lovemaidenhead tag on Instagram I was hoping that other Maidonians and local photographers would join in and help me celebrate and share all of the little things that make Maidenhead a great place to live. My children and I have always enjoyed the Maidenhead Festival so I’m thrilled to be joining forces with them and am looking forward to seeing lots more photos with the #lovemaidenhead tag for everyone to enjoy.”

Do like our Festival Facebook page and Instagram account so you can see some off the entries being submitted.

“Festival and Me” drawing competition
Children aged 3 to 16 are invited to submit entries for this competition. Simply draw, paint and create an image of what you love about Maidenhead Festival. Do you like the beach, the fairground, the music, the stalls or any of the other many attractions?

Completed artwork should be no larger than 30cm x 30cm and must be submitted no later than 4pm on Sunday 23rd July 2017 (hand them in at the Festival stand next to the main stage).

Alternatively entries can be posted to 5 Heywood Avenue, Maidenhead, Berkshire, SL6 3JA. (Organisers are unable to return any entries received by post.) The following details should be included on all submissions: entrant name, entrant age, contact email address and contact phone number.

Winners announced the week after Festival.
